Sand & Cement Floating
The traditional way to get walls straight and true. A solid sand and cement backing coat, ready for a smooth plaster finish.

What it is
About sand & cement floating
Internal floating is a backing coat of sand and cement applied to masonry walls. It's ruled off and levelled to take out dips, bows and uneven brickwork, giving a flat, solid surface.
Once it has set, a finish coat of plaster goes over the top. It's the hard-wearing, traditional approach for walls that need more than a skim.
Typically used for
- Bare brick or block walls after renovation
- Walls that are badly out of level
- Rooms where old plaster has been hacked off
- Kitchens, bathrooms and hard-wearing areas
- Extensions and conversions
