Dry Lining
Plasterboard fitted to walls and ceilings for a fast, flat surface that's ready to skim and decorate.

What it is
About dry lining
Dry lining means fixing plasterboard to walls or ceilings, either directly with adhesive dabs or onto a timber or metal frame. It creates a smooth, even surface quickly, without the drying time of wet backing coats.
Once boarded, the surface is skimmed or taped and jointed so it's ready to paint.
Typically used for
- New ceilings and ceiling replacements
- Loft conversions and extensions
- Stud partition walls
- Uneven walls where a quick, flat finish is needed
- Improving insulation with insulated board
