2. Data we collect
When you send an enquiry through our quote form, call us, or contact us through social media, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your postcode or the address of the property
- Details about the job, including the service you need and any timings or preferred dates you give us
- Any photos or other information you choose to send us about the work
If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect information about how you use this website, such as pages visited, clicks and scrolling, device type and approximate location. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. Lawful basis for processing
- Contract: to provide a quote and carry out work you have asked for, or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Legitimate interests: to respond to your enquiry, keep records of quotes and jobs, and run our business. We only rely on this where it does not override your rights.
- Consent: to send you marketing messages, and to use analytics cookies on this website. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: to keep financial and tax records where the law requires it.
4. How we use and store your data
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, prepare a quote, carry out and invoice the work, and keep in touch with you about your job.
We keep general enquiry information for 12 months from our last contact with you, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is sooner. If you become a customer, we keep records of the work and invoices for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes.
Your information is stored securely with the providers listed below. We never sell your personal data.
5. Third-party processors
We use trusted providers to run this website and manage enquiries. They only process your data on our instructions:
- Website hosting: [e.g. Cloudflare]
- CRM, forms and webhooks: [e.g. GoHighLevel], which receives and stores quote form enquiries
- Website analytics: Microsoft Clarity, used only if you accept analytics cookies
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where this happens, they use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
This website also links to our Facebook and Instagram profiles. If you follow those links, Meta's own privacy policy applies to anything you do on their platforms.
6. Marketing communications
We will only contact you about your enquiry or job unless you have told us you are happy to hear about other offers or updates. We do not send unsolicited marketing.
If you have agreed to receive marketing, you can opt out at any time by replying "STOP" to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or emailing simontheplasterer74@gmail.com. Opting out will not affect messages about work you have booked.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data
- Objection: object to us using your data based on legitimate interests or for marketing
- Data portability: ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere
- Withdraw consent: at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email simontheplasterer74@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before going to the ICO.
